Eltron’s direct thermal and thermal transfer label printers accept a variety of label materials and ribbons.
For each application it will be necessary to select the label material, direct thermal or thermal transfer, and for thermal transfer printing, the correct ribbon to use with the selected material.
Consumables or media refer not only to the materials being printed on (substrate) but also to the ribbons that are used for thermal transfer printing. The quality of the final image, boxes, lines or graphics is very dependent on using media with properties that match the printing process
Face materials refer to the substrate materials before the materials are converted into label stock and before any face coatings, laminations, adhesive or release liner (label carrier) has been added.
